Fresh, Eco-Friendly Furniture by Anderson Modern

Saturday, May 8th, 2010

Jacob – an Atlanta designer and all around DIY type of guy – was bored with the furniture he was finding. He wanted pieces for his home that had soul. He ran across a linseed oil-based stain at IKEA, and something just sparked! He loves the rustic look that the Behandla stain lends his work and started making more pieces.

He creates all of Anderson Modern’s furniture using reclaimed, locally-sourced wood. It’s not so much that he’s drawn to eco-friendly materials, but he says that, “materials that are earth friendly came to me. They were already begging to be left unadulterated, and kept in their most simple form.” -via GreenUpgrader

David Lynch | Organic Coffee

Saturday, May 8th, 2010

David Lynch Signature Cup Organic Espresso
Before being a director, David Lynch is a big amateur of coffee. The coffee often meets in his movies as if this one was a character. His passion for the coffee brought him to become one of the main actors thanks to the launch of its own brand there. After several years of tests and tastings, he finally managed to create a coffee in his image.
David Lynch Organic Coffee, Espresso Whole Bean is rich and lusciously full-bodied with nuances of dark chocolate, cardamom, and caramel. This powerhouse coffee is an ideal foundation for a first-rate cappuccino or caffe latte. Coffees from the Americas are combined with select Pacific Rim beans and roasted to a deep dark oily brown. This measured, but aggressive style of roast transforms the unique characteristics of beans from the two different continents into a hearty and supremely satisfying organic blend. They have a medium/dark roast profile.
A portion of proceeds will go to the David Lynch film scholarships fund at the American Film Institute Center for advanced film studies.

Trevor O’ Neil | Eco-Furniture

Monday, April 26th, 2010

WOW! Trevor O’Neil is the new transition to going green and being eco-friendly. Trevor has created furniture that is made out of wood, but, the pieces he uses are not damaging to trees. (Cork, laminated birch, recycled plastic).

The concept is pretty amazing, and the execution is even better.
